Kiwis win men's, women's, titles in KL Towerthon

KUALA LUMPUR: New Zealand competitors won both the men's and women's categories in the World Towerthon held at the KL Tower here yesterday. Jonathan Wyatt, 29, won the men's category with Melisa Potocka Moon, 32, bagging the women's crown.

Guanus Salegan was the best local runner in the men's category when he finished 11th while Suwaibah Muhammad Nasir was fourth in the women's section. Yesterday's event began with a run over 800m from KL Tower's gate and the climb-up over 2,058 staircases until the Mega View Banquet Deck, 421m in height.

Both winners were not new to the KL Tower. Wyatt's victory yesterday was his fourth at the KL Tower while for Moon, it was her third. A total of 116 competitors took part in the event. - Bernama
